This article is intended for those who are already familiar with Mafia Wars and have playing experience. This is not a primer on how to play but rather an instruction on how to improve your playing by letting your PC play for you while away. Once you know how to use this tool for Mafia Wars, the skills you learn in this article will be useful for other games, repetitive tasks you have to perform on your PC, and possibly even at work!

First off, you will need to get your character to a decent level before trying the advanced tactics. There is no way to hack the database and instantly assign your character higher values for Defense, Attack, Max Health, or any other features. Although, the latest release does allow you to use godfather points to right out purchase more upgrade points, you do have to pay for them and this isn't considered cheating – its too expensive to really take advantage of… so, unless you are a million-air, this will not help you.

You are going to need a PC that doesn't need to be used for anything else (by a human anyway) while this 'cheat' is running. You can have services running in the back ground but the mouse and keyboard can't be used while this 'cheat' is in-use. That PC is also going to need to have a macro scripting program such as the one that I prefer, “Do It Again” which is available at this link: http://www.spacetornado.com/DoItAgain/

Once you have “Do It Again” installed you need to figure out what stage you are at in building your character. If you are just starting out (below level 50) you probably will lose more fights than you win, so your tactic needs to match your character and anyone below level 50 should NOT be trying to get put on the hit list. Instead, you can use “Do It Again” to record a script that will automatically do jobs so that you can improve your character's ability to 'hang in there' in fights. You priorities below level 50 should ONLY be to increase your “Defense Strength”.

Regardless of what stage your character is in, you will use the same basic steps to program the scrip,t only as your character gains strength, your goals for these steps will change. Lets try a simple script to learn how to use the “Do It Again” tool:

First open “Do It Again” (which we will call DIA from now on in this article). To start the first time you won't have any “tasks” in the white box in the middle of the DIA dialog box.

Second, click on “Create a New Task” so that you can record a new set of clicks, scrolls, or key strokes on your PC. But remember, as soon as you click on the “Create a New Task” button, DIA is now recording where you click on the screen, any key strokes you make on the keyboard, even where you scroll to if you have a wheel mouse…. so, right after clicking on the new task button try clicking on some web links or on your “Start” menu but after a few of those clicks, press “Scroll Lock” to stop recording.

Pressing Scroll Lock will stop DIA from recording (or playing) a script and when recording is stopped you will be prompted with a name for the task that you just performed… so lets call this task “Practice” then click on “Save”.

Well now you've recorded a script… but to play it back you need to double click on the script you've saved – it should now be listed in the white box in the middle of the DIA dialog box. If you double click on it, it will run again…. but only one time. Go ahead and try it… the same clicks that you made now should be repeated by the PC automatically…. and if you want them to stop; remember press “Scroll Lock” to stop.

Now this still isn't that useful, after all, if you have to be at the PC to trigger the script to start by double clicking on it everytime you need it done, this isn't going to save you much work. But what if I told you that they was a way to tell DIA to repeat this task and to wait in between times it repeats? Well then you have a tool that can repeatedly do jobs for you, or repeatedly heal you, or do whatever you need over and over again…. To set DIA to repeat tasks, highlight the task in the white window on the DIA dialog box and press “control + F6″ on your keyboard (at the same time). This brings up a new dialog box to allow you to tell DIA how many times to repeat the task and how long to wait in between repetitions.

So, if you now set the “Practice” task to repeat 3 times and wait 10 seconds between repetitions, you will get a feeling for how this works.

Now that you know how DIA works, its time to put it to practical use. Again, if you are under level 50, all you may want to do here is to tell DIA to do some jobs, put the money in the bank, then wait however many seconds it takes to get your energy back before it does another job. Repeat this for a whole day and you'll probably gain a few levels while you are at work…. repeat for a week and you'll probably be able to move on to another stage of how to use DIA.

If you are more advanced and you can win most of the fights you may now want to move your goals more toward setting up DIA to keep healing you and try to intentionally be listed on the “HItlist”… this way everyone (or most of the people) who try to beat you up will lose to you and in the process give you experience points… and if lucky, money too! Repeat this for a couple weeks and you will be a level 400+ in no-time.

So, good luck, play with the DIA tool and see if you can find new and better uses for this great tool… Good luck, and don't get whacked too often and lastly, remember use “Scroll Lock” to stop DIA.

Flowers are attractive to look at, a universal present that everyone appreciates, and they smell good too. But, have you ever wondered if there are flowers you can eat too? You can eat vegetables, fruits, and herbs that grow in your garden, so why not eat some flowers too?

First off, before you head off to your yard or garden to sample the flowers you can eat that are growing there, be warned there are certain species you should not eat. These types of flowers are poisonous. They will cause to be sick if you eat them, and maybe even cause death!

Examples of poisonous flowers that aren't edible include: Gardenia, Azalea, Morning Glory, Black Locust, Buttercup, Poison Hemlock, (it's no wonder that Shakespeare used the “taking of hemlock” in his plays as a means of causing death), Lily of the Valley, Foxglove, Chinaberry, Iris, Daffodil, Hyacinth, Deadly Nightshade, Poinsettia, Death Cammus, Windflower, Larkspur, and Mistletoe.

Second, if you're interested in sampling some of the flowers that are growing in your yard or garden, you must choose flowers you can eat. But before we find out which flowers you can eat, I have to give you another warning for your health's sake: Never eat flowers that have been treated with pesticides or other chemicals. Only choose flowers you can eat that are free from chemical sprays and powders. If you're not sure whether a flower has been treated or not, leave it be.

Now we can find out what flowers you can eat…really! Take Squash or Pumpkin Blossoms, for example. These flowers are not only edible, but they are rather tasty too. Especially if they are deep fried in a batter. To choose the best flowers you can eat, pick only fresh flowers that are bright in color and have completely opened up. Avoid picking brown or discolored blooms. And, avoid flowers that are infested with insects.

Other types of flowers you can eat are: Thyme, Anise Hyssop, Chamomile, Violets, Coriander, Rosemary, Mustard, Daisy, Begonia, Pansy, Chives, Dandelion (check out my AC article about making Dandelion Wine), Chrysanthemum, Basil, Bee Balm, Nasturtiums, Honeysuckle, Oregano, Pineapple Sage, Rosemary, and Redbud. I haven't had a chance to taste Redbud flowers yet. But I want to because they are said to taste just like raw peanuts.

If you don't have these varieties of flowers you can eat growing in your yard or gardens, check with your neighbors, friends, extended family and co-workers to see what they grow. Just remember the “No Chemicals” rule before you pick any flowers.

Once you pick the flowers you want to eat, gently remove any stems, stamens, pollen sacs, and pistils that may be on or inside them. You're after the petal part of the flowers.

Then, rinse the flowers you can eat thoroughly with tap water. Eat them alone, or sprinkle them on top of a lettuce salad. If you're hosting a dinner party, and you're not sure if your guests would approve of flowers in their food, then use the petals as a garnish on the edges of their plates. Then, they can choose to eat them, or, discard them instead.

Mom works hard all year, and what better way to say thanks and show your appreciation than by planning a fun Mother’s Day with her?

Regardless of what activity or food your mom enjoys, Portland Oregon will have just the thing for you and that important lady.

Keep reading, and then make plans early! You’ll have a great time, and mom will remember your thoughtfulness all year long.

It seems that many family activities involve chatting over meals, whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a midnight snack. Well, Mother’s Day is no exception. Many of the activities available are brunches, and at interesting places no less.

Let’s take a look at a few of the McMenamins’ locations, shall we? Most of the McMenamins locations are having a Mother’s Day Brunch on May 14, from 9am to 3pm.

McMenamins' is famous for taking historic structures and turning them into interesting and delightful hotels and restaurants, and are well known in the Portland area.  Depending on the location, you may find comfortable pubs, romantic rooms, and even a theatre or two.

The Kennedy School in Northeast Portland, now a McMenamins' hotel, was built in 1915 as an elementary school. The school was purchased by McMenamins and renovated, turning the former classrooms into delightful guestrooms, complete with private bathrooms and other amenities.

The Kennedy School also boasts a restaurant, movie theatre, soaking pool, and working brewery, as well as original artwork and historic photographs. A great location for Mother’s Day (or any occasion).

Another McMenamins’ location, The Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, was originally built in 1922 as a Masonic and Eastern Star home. This hotel offers 88 European-style guest rooms and has several restaurants and bars to choose from.  You may also enjoy a relaxing dip in the soaking pool, or take in a movie on the big screen in their Compass Room Theater.

You will find another delightful McMenamins location by taking a short drive to historic McMinnville. Once there, drop in to the Hotel Oregon, built in 1905 and located on old Main Street.

At the Hotel Oregon, you may decide to enjoy a few drinks in the Rooftop Bar, which provides a stunning view of McMinnville and the surrounding area. If the view doesn’t interest you, descend to the Cellar Bar to quench your thirst.

They have wonderful rooms, a restaurant serving delicious food, as well as artwork and historic photographs to view. McMinnville is located in wine country and provides a beautiful drive to and from, and an interesting place to stay, or just enjoy dinner and drinks. Mom will love the ambience and attention she receives at any of these locations.

I know, let’s have lunch with the animals! The Oregon Zoo is presenting a Mother’s Day Brunch from 9am to 1pm on May 14th. Why not combine a lazy walk through the zoo and share the day with four-legged zoo moms?

Located just a few minutes from downtown Portland, the zoo will provide an interesting backdrop to a fun Mother’s Day outing. The brunch will be offered in the Cascade Crest Banquet Center, and reservations are recommended.

After enjoying the zoo and brunch, why not take the little train that winds through the zoo to the Rose Garden and enjoy the beautiful blossoms and aroma of the floral display. Mom will have a great time!

The Grotto is also celebrating Mother’s Day with an outdoor Mass (weather permitting), as well as brunch, served from 11 to 11:30 am and again from 1:15 to 1:45 pm. The brunch will be presented buffet style in The Grotto Conference Center, offering a variety of tasty main dishes, succulent mini desserts, and beverages.

The Grotto is on 62 acres, with a Catholic Shrine and botanical garden, first opened in 1924 on land purchased from the Union Pacific Railroad the year before. The Grotto was carved in solid basalt in 1925, and houses beautiful religious art in with over one hundred statues and shrines on flower lined pathways.

The Monastery at the Grotto was completed in 1936, and then renovated in later years. The Grotto will provide a delightful stroll to view the wonderful statues, shrines, and plants, as well as a relaxing brunch with mom.

If mom loves the water, then the Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch on May 14th aboard an authentic triple deck paddle wheeler is just the thing. The Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge and Marine Locks Cruise will delight her with spectacular views of the Columbia Gorge, while enjoying honey glazed ham, desserts, and beverages.

There are two brunches offered, one from 9:30 to 11:30am, and then from 1 to 3pm. Cost is adults $45.00, and children $20.00.   Boarding is at Marine Locks, a short 45 minute drive from Portland. Certainly worth the drive to be able to enjoy a wonderful cruise and a fun filled day with mom.

If having brunch isn’t what mom wants, then here are a few alternatives.

Massage is a great way to relax, or relieve a few pesky tight or cramped muscles. Why not give mom a gift certificate for a Day Spa or Massage Therapy?

The Payne Relief Massage Therapy for Women is offering gift certificates you can purchase for mom. The massage can be therapeutic or just relaxing, and are offered in thirty, sixty, or ninety minute increments.

Bellini’s European Day spa also offers to pamper mom and provides skin and body care. This spa offers holistic and aromatherapeutic opportunities for their clients, and mom would just love it.

Another spa is The Pointe Day Spa, located just outside of Portland in the town of Hillsboro. This spa offers a ‘Two The Pointe Package’ for moms and daughters, and includes massages, body wraps, pedicures, and spa lunches.

What a wonderful day for mom! Mom will be so relaxed when the massage is over, you may need to pour her into the car!

If mom enjoys the outdoors more than a spa or brunch treat, then head over to Tryon Creek State Natural Area Mother’s Day Scavenger Day and Crafts. Here you will be able to make crafts and enjoy a scavenger hunt in the park from 2 to 3pm on May 14.

Tryon Creek Park has 645 beautiful acres to enjoy, where you can marvel at the ferns and Trillium flowers, and enjoy catching sight of jays, squirrels, and other animals. The park also has a nature store, guided trail walks, and a paved bike path on the park’s eastern edge.

Get out there in the fresh air and enjoy being a kid again, with your kid(s)!

Whatever mom enjoys doing, you will be able to find it in or around Portland Oregon. Use the internet or phone book to get details on places mentioned, or to find something else wild and wonderful to enjoy.

The important thing is to spend time with mom and let her know just how special she is. Oh, tell mom hi and give her a hug for me, ok?

It was the first year of our married life and my husband and I had just celebrated Thanksgiving. What should we do the rest of the long weekend? I suggested we go shopping on Friday and without any knowledge of what the day after Thanksgiving shopping (typically known as Black Friday was like, he agreed. Was he in for a surprise! Once we arrived at the mall and finally found a parking spot, he asked why was it so crowded. I finally confessed. He was a good sport about it and we did shop for several hours.

A lot of things have changed since that Thanksgiving, and Black Friday has gone through many ups and downs just like the economy. We now also haveCyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving for online shoppers. You'll find many websites devoted to Black Friday and Cyber Monday with advance notice of what items you might find on sale.

Here are just a few incredible deals I have found. Please remember stores have the right to substitute items and prices are subject to change prior to the intended sale date. Also, take the time to check consumer research sites prior to Black Friday and Cyber Monday to make sure the item you want fits your needs.

Target: Westinghouse 32″ Widescreen LCD HDTV for the incredibly low price of $246 (you may find us waiting in line for this one!). Remember, stores usually only carry up to five of these bigger items, so if it's something you are dying to have, you need to get there early. Some stores (check their return policy) have the item in stock prior to Black Friday. You can purchase the item on Wednesday and if the store returns the difference when an item goes on sale, you can try this approach. We were given this tip when we purchased a 50″ Vizio television from Circuit City (maybe why they are no longer in business!). It's best to double check with the store prior to purchasing.

Target (again): Target is offering many of its small appliances for $3 on Black Friday! Yes, $3! These include Chefmate 1.5-Quart Slow Cooker; Chefmate 12-Cup Coffeemaker; Chefmate 2-Slice Sandwich Maker; and the Chefmate 2-Slice Toaster.

Best Buy: Two great Sony deals on Black Friday include a Sony 32″ Widescreen LCD television for $377.99 and a Sony 15″ Dual-Core laptop with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and Windows 7 for $399.99.

Dell: Cyber Monday shoppers will find many deals at the Dell website (http://www.dell.com/) including an Inspiron Mini 9 for $229 plus $50 instant savings.

Walmart: You'll find Fisher-Price Power Wheels Girls' Barbie KFX ATV on www.walmart.com for only $178. Have the item shipped to the store and you pay no shipping charges.

These are just a few of the bargains you'll find on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Check out these sites for more great deals: http://blackfridayads.com and http://www.cybermonday.net.

Happy shopping!

While some choose elegant brick or miniature wooden fence to the edge of their flower gardens, landscaping rocks is another interesting option. While these rocks come in various colors, styles, and sizes to match the outside decor of the room, there are several methods to manage them as an attractive garden border. Large Landscape Rocks – Stone Wall landsccape BorderChoosing only slightly smaller than one foot at the widest dimension of the tip determine the style of flower garden you plan to make. Basically, you'll build a landscape with stone walls, stone edge fit together to create a border of almost seamlessly. Begin by digging a trench along the edge of the flower garden. Landscaping stones set into this trench and then backfill the hole to support the type of flower garden stones. This creep is ideal for larger plants and shrubs only. Small ground cover plants or will be overwhelmed with a large landscape stones as border.Flat Landscape Rocks – The Easy MOW EdgeIf your goal to border flower garden is to create an easy to cut the edge that makes flowers and grass and weeds out, flat rock landscaping is good choice. Begin by clearing a flat area along the edge of the garden is as wide as your largest stones. Then, lying end to end along the edge of the rocks in fun patterns. This works well with irregular-shaped stones. If there are spaces between the rocks, you might want to fill it with a smaller rock fragments or gravel.Small Landscape Rocks – Fluid Garden BorderWhether you select pieces of slate or river pebbles fall to rock your landscape, you can create a garden with a rock-fluid boundary This rocks. Start with 3-4 inch wide cleaning path along the edge of your flower garden, and then just lay or pour a small landscape stones along the edge. Put them down or let the rain and time do the work for you. This method can lead to weeds or grass growing in between the small landscape stones. Over time, the rocks will sink into the earth and disappeared. To overcome the second point, consider soaking a piece of concrete and placed a small stone into it. concrete can be completely closed, but still will do to keep your flower garden edges neat.
